he told the MHB Fanclub to get it back
and they stole it back,

is that true ?

^ Yeah, I think so. Apparently someone had a party somewhere and it was there on 'display' in their house! (at least that's what I remember of the story I heard)

well I know very well this history...
May 17, 2001 . Club Townsend, in San Francisco, California.
Last show in the club... and with Motorhead, and after that, had the doors closed down forever.
It was packed and was a really nice show. Was very fortunate for me too... I got the set list, the Lemmy's pick plectrum and the poster of the show at the door
After the show, we heard Lemmy was very upset, cause somebody stolen his hat... Not for the hat, but for the regalia in it... A German Edelweiss medal (for the ww2 German mountain troops) and a ww2 English medal (death or glory).
In 2002 another show in another venue in San Francisco... I met Lemmy in a bar, across the theater and he was very happy because he recovered his hat that days... from some MHB who had stolen too from a store... (a weird story for me, anyway...)
I was very happy cause I took a picture with him and with his hat... and there, a tragic end for me.. no picture at all ... It wasn't a digital cam... geez... I hate to remember this
