i agree completely, however , we just weren't ready for something different back in '83
and it was such a big change as well. At the time i thought the album was ok and i think
the boys would have got away with it if it wasn't for the piss poor tour that followed.
I have however come to really like the album ( the tour however still haunts me ! cry)

I remember the day I've bought APD quite well. I knew the album would be out soon,
so I went checking the record store daily.
Finally, it was there - and it had a wrong price label, so I got it with 50% off laugh
Saving money was always cool back in those teenage days.

I immediately liked it and did ever since!
For me it is one of the best albums Motörhead ever made.

yet they changed again in 84 and everyone loved them again
it wasn't really the change, it was too much change i think

Not a bg fan of the 'Iron Fist' album too be honest. In fact I think it is one of the worst albums they have done (certainly the worst with Fast Eddie).

I also don't agree it was their heaviest at the time. I think 'Overkill' is a much better & heavier album.

I remember a lot of us Motorhead fans being really disappointed with this release when it came out.

No it isn't! It is awful. Three good songs (& that is pushing it), dreadful production, awful cover, tired songwriing I mean too be honest there is not much to shout about with this album.

Motorhead were riding the crest of a wave after 'Ace Of Spaes' & the 'No Sleep Til Hammersmith' (strangely titled seeing as it was recorded in Leeds & Newcastle) live album & we were expecting a lot with 'Iron Fist'. We didn't get it. It should have been a lot better. grin

I wouldn't agree on that, dude. I like the cover and there are lots of great songs on the album.
