Aerosmith Live at Donington 1990. If I listen hard enough I might just hear myself yelling.
whitesnake and thunder where there too that year right? that would of been a great show...
To be honest Highway, Thunder opened and were amazing. Opening a 5 band, all day festival can't be the easiest of gigs, but they were excellent and I could have watched them for another hour. Then came the Quireboys, who I'd seen support Aerosmith the year before and they were excellent then. At Donington though they just couldn't cut it, like the large stage/audience was too much for them. Poison were up next, and frankly they were poor. They insisted on playing loads of tracks from their latest album Flesh and Blood, instead of focusing on their better known stuff from the 2 prior albums. I think it was a missed opportunity for them. Aerosmith were incredible, as ever. Whitesnake though were the dissapointment of the day. They had a mish mash line up that didn't really gel live, and they focused too much on Slip of The tongue and 1987, instead of giving us more of the old classics. All in all I had a great day out, but I would have had as much fun musically if I'd seen Thunder open for Aerosmith at an ordinary gig tbh.
