So there, I found the AOS DualDisc in the mailbox yesterday. Gave it a spin and...I am confused.

First thing I noticed (obviously) is the awesome feeling of spatiality - there's nothing like music surrounding you within the confines of your own room. So far so good, but...

...why the fuck are the vocals so much in front? I had to set the rear speakers volume as high as possible to compenasate for that, but still didn't achieve a satisfactory result, i.e. the guitars were still buried deep in the background. It's as if you chose the 'POP MUSIC' preset on your old stereo/winamp: all music is just a background for very clearly audible vocals.

So...so-so wink

I listen to my duals (O, and AoS) thru my stereo system, I mean I use dvd player, and they sound great. What kind of system you're using?

Sometimes the quality of the components causes low sound reproduction.

Just ordered one of these..

£15 for a Motorhead hoodie seems good value for money. I'll let you know what the quality is like when it lands...

I had no problems with many other albums I played, even regular CDs sound better. Hell, I actually own a vinl replica CD edition of AOS and it sounds better than the DualDisc - played on the same system!

Every system is different. None is 100 percent accurate. So, there's no guarantee that all albums will sound the same or sound good.
