Yeah I know what you mean about the quality dying off.
With the software I have it is possible to work wonders on restoring sound,enhancing it, but that is OFF the tape and of course,the tape IS the tape, and they are prone to sound degradation.
Some fare better than others for reasons I haven't figured out.

I did read something somewhere about freezing old cassette tapes or something?????

PLEASE DON'T TRY IT !!!!!!!!!

It was just something I read somewhere.
Or did I imagine it?

Anyone else heard something similar?

Got my Cassettes, both in working order, with good sound, only a bit dodgy for the first 40-50 seconds of Ace Of spades on 'No Remorse'. Also picked up a '1916' on vinyl, which I've never heard before, so a good day all in all! smile
