since i learned to play going to brazil, love for sale and i'm so bad i'm jamming every day to those 3 songs on bass. that's how my whole last month looked alike

no, i play by ear. yeah, motorhead bass tabs are rare and mostly wrong, so i gave up from that

well friend, then please share your knowledge! That's one of the main purposes I've started this thread for.

I noticed that many bass players invest time in figuring out Motörhead songs - and then keep the result as a secret

I've never seen that behaviour with any other bands music. Really strange...

Well, let me start with the most important lesson then :
1) use a pick
2) attack your strings hard somewhere in the neighbourhead of where the fretboard starts.
3) use at least your left hand to dampen the strings you are not using.
4) power chords are explicitely allowed.

Having stood beside Alan Davey for a number of years,and having done MH covers,learning each album as it came out...
The open bass chord seems to be a Lemmy fav...
So as an example "A"
A string open,high A on the D.
For more power (Short chord)as above but add a high E on the G string.

For the full power chord,say "E"

Est open,high E on the A string,High B on the D string and finally high E on the G string,full power

Get those three things down and you have the rhythm structure that Lemmy uses for just about every song.
