The razors edge is one of my fav DC albums, i think Ballbreaker was a bit of a let down

I like ALL AC/DC's albums, especially Fly On The Wall. Ballbreaker was brilliant, the title track was a monster!

But yeah, it's not like they do much in the way of production, and the songs aren't exactly complex masterpieces, so why can't AC/DC do an album every two years like the Head?

With regards to AC/DC (And no offence to the Head's hard work) they are on a much more demanding scale of PR arrangements, large scale world tours that stretch well beyond the average, and other personal agendas for each member. I mean when you look at it deeply you see there is much more than just simple songs and simple production, it's hard to keep up the AC/DC image and the trademark sound with lyrics included.

Motorhead are pretty much as well respected and well known as ACDC, but they don't have as much on their plate because they aren't in the world media as much as 'DC are, and because of this they can move more freely in terms of touring and recording at their leisure. Both bands work very hard to please the fans they've earned and both play and record fantastic music, but 'DC have more obligations in terms of what we might say was the boring areas of their work than Motorhead do, and that's what I believe often keeps AC/DC away from the studio for so long. I mean you weigh up how much DC comes on TV versus Motorhead, and how many magazines they appear in and interviews etc and you soon see why they struggle with having the energy and fire they need to bang out great albums.

Back on topic however, let's hope the album's out reasonably soon! And maybe The Head Cat'll be rolling the copies out soon too.

And don't forget a very important thing - one day it became "hip" to say "sure I like AC/DC". It's part of a poser image men seem to develop when they grow older - like buying a Harley or having a stupid blond chic as "girlfriend".

BUT: Motörhead seem to be another "victim" of that. Did anyone notice that more and more people wear Motörhead T-shirts? People who have no idea what the band is and what kind of music they play?

Well, good for the band. They make more money and I think they deserve it...

AC/DC last put out a truly quality album in the early 80's IMO. Flick of the Switch (or maybe Fly on the Wall if you can get beyond the woeful production). Since then its been average intermixed with occassional brilliance (eg the track Ballbreaker as Bawbag suggests) and plenty of dross. Let there be Rock, Back in Black and Powerage. Now they are superb albums.

People buying shirts for image is one thing, but as far as Motorhead go I don't think they actively encourage people to try to be what they aren't, after all Lemmy believes in being who he really is inside.

AC/DC is much more simpler music than Motorhead, thats why they are popular more than Motorhead. And music industry propaganda is important to any band: videos, tv, magazines bla bla.... and if you have very big support of music industry you have false feeling that you are great, you have support because they can sell you very good and earn lots of money on you, they dont give a fuck are you good musician or not, so watch out for this media propaganda thing! Music what is more complicated less fans you will have. Thats how things are in this world. Look at the Britney Spears, more people knows her than Motorhead. Why? Because she is playing better music? I dont think so. I have all albums from ACDC, I like them, just thinking they are less complicated music from Motorhead thats why its easy to understand them so everyone listen them, real fans and those people who doesnt know the shit what is rnr. More complicated music you have less fans you will have. ACDC music is understandable to everyone, Motorhead music is not. I think Motorhead music is much more smarter than ACDC music but I like them anyway.
