Well they are claiming that it will be pretty much business as usual as far as distribution etcetera goes, although that remains to be seen IMHO.

It shouldn't effect tours, unless they are financed by the lable itself.

I would imagine Motorhead will pick up another lable pretty quick if SPV does go under.
May not be a major major lable, but surely a decent one?

I seem to recall bad feeling with SPV before?
Refered to as "Wankola records in one interview?" LOL

Market place is VERY tough right now,but Motorhead is still a pretty good franchise to have on your books I would imagine.

So fingers crossed,it COULD be a change for the better for the guys hopefully.

Nigel.

Rock Saviour Records do nothing but metal vinyl.
They just released our album on heavy duty vinyl:
Black, clear or red (Forgive shameless plug) smile

vinyl is history. I dont hate vinyl or love vinyl, I just think when younger generations come, who dont know what is vinyl and all this older generations die (someday) vinyl will die with them too. How many young people have gramophone at home? Very little. They only know for CD's or mp3 and thats it. Like it or not vinyl is history.

"credibility-wise" it might be a good thing to have 'em, but sales-wise? forget it... frown remember the press-coverage after the release of "motörizer", regarding chart-positions? back then, a client told me about the plain number of "sold units" and i was pretty surprised how low that number was - especially as germany still is considered an "important market"...

@ blackadder: i don't think vinyl is history. in fact there's even some kind of "renaissance" at the moment - at least in gemany even the big chainstores start selling vinyl again - pretty expensive though. recently, when looking for the new "dylan"-album, i was thinking about getting the vinyl-version ('specially as the package also contained the album on cd). ended up buying the cd as it was less than half the price of the vinyl-edition...

Agreed on the vinyl Menzman.
Definately not a generation thing, indeed many of the dj's who mix and mash only want vinyl.

As for credability...
Mmm,you could well be right.
I guess love of the band clouded my judgement there.
To us they are simply the best, living breathing legends.
Oh well, back to fingers crossed then.
