Hi, I have a copy of this show, but no sound, you have sound? is filmed in front of the band, very close, 8mm I think, is quite rare, if you are interested in making a trade, please send me a PM. This is my list of Motörhead Booltegs in DVD Cheers

Has a full show from Newcastle 1982 ever shown up on video?
I'm going to guess that the short one going around is silent because the guy who filmed it may not have had a sound camera (those were quite a bit more expensive at the time).
I filmed parts of a few concerts on silent super 8. The camera I was using was one that was difficult to focus. In almost all the cases they turned out to be out of focus because of that. The only one that turned out great was Ozzy Osbourne in 1982. I was very close to the stage. I was caught filming it but I convinced the guards that the camera was electronic binoculars - and they believed me. I lent the original film to someone and never got it back. I only have a copy that I made onto VHS by filming it off the wall. It flickered like crazy because the super 8 was 24 frames per second and the VHS was 30 fps. Film was expensive so I only filmed a couple of rolls.
There are a few long concerts with sound that were shot on Super 8 that have turned up in the last few years. One that I can think of off the top of my head was Black Sabbath from the Heaven and hell or the Mob rules tour.
Hopefully some more such concerts will turn up.

Yes, it was with Brad Gillis...but it was unfortunately silent. I had seen the tour with Randy Rhoads the previous year so I was very excited to go. I took a tape recorder to that show and it turned out to be the second worst bootleg I ever heard because I borrowed a dictation recorder that used micro cassettes, from someone I went to school with. I also snuck in the same cheap camera that I took the Motorhead pix with, and the Super 8 camera (all of which were contraband at that time) I'm amazed I got everything in. My expectations were really high because even though Randy was no longer there, they still needed someone who could play those songs but Ozzy was really drunk he looked bad and almost looked like he pissed his pants at one point. I was somewhat surprised that he was that drunk because when I saw him during the Blizzard of Ozz tour he looked like he wasn't drunk or was only slightly drunk. The only semi-controversial thing they did was hanging a midget. Ozzy kept bragging about all the crazy stuff he was planning to do on that tour but he really didn't do much. I cant remember the song but Brad Gillis did a really cool-sounding opening to one of the songs that sounded like a chainsaw. I'm not really sure what happened with Brad Gillis leaving the band, although I wouldn't have a hard time believing that Sharon Osbourne screwed him around... as she'd done to many others.

Just off the top of my head, 2 concerts that didn't turn out well and were really out of focus were Van Halen from the Fair Warning tour (that would have been a good one to get as only a few songs were ever released live - Unchained being one that they used as a music video). Another one that didn't turn out was Alice Cooper from the Special Forces tour - he tried to go punk. I didn't really enjoy that show. He played a few classics but played too much newer material that nobody knew. He cut his hair short and didn't use the Alice Cooper makeup

Do you still have a copy of the Ozzy gig ?. How many tracks did you film ?. Did you take any photos of that show and do you still have the photos ?. Was this the Toronto gig in May 1982 ?. Cheers for your reply, pity about he VH show being bad quality.

I don't currently know where exactly my bad VHS copy is because at the time, I just transferred it for fun as I hadn't lost the Super 8 film of it yet (I loaned it to someone who had just got a Super 8 projector) anyway it was never returned to me and the person I had lent it do supposedly gave it to one of my friends who couldn't remember. It was silent so I just filmed interesting things here and there. I didn't film any complete songs but I should have as I could have synchronized it with the audio (even though the audio was terrible, I'm sure there are good recordings of it somewhere. I actually recently got an audio recording from the Blizzard of OZ tour that I had been to in 81. I shot a whole roll of photos which I will eventually transfer digitally from the negatives. One of the Motorhead photos I recently posted, I had never before seen, as the photo lab thought it was too dark to print so there may be some goodies in there that I've never seen as well. I'll eventually post some once I get a chance to transfer them. This was the only Toronto show from the Diary of a Madman tour in 1982 but I don't remember the date offhand. In about 1983 I finally got an excellent Canon photo camera. I cant remember what shows I took pictures of with the new camera other than the Deep Purple Perfect Strangers tour at the moment. In 1987 I started videotaping some concerts for a short period of time starting with Pink Floyd etc. After a while they were catching me filming so I stopped doing it. I was using a Video 8 camera which was very large compared to the cameras today. There was another guy in Toronto filming shows at the time so I thought that it would be easier just buying or trading copies from him. Regarding the Van Halen show, it was before they became too commercial so that is one that I regret not getting any good footage from them.
