I am using quiet old software to record with.
I use Cubase SX.
I have others like Logic, but Cubase SX suits my needs.

It is installed on your pc like any other program, but what it gives you is a recording studio where you can multi track what you play.
So for instance, you would play the rhythm guitar piece first, recording it start to finish.
Then with that playing, you could then add lead, bass, drums and vocals, all as seperate tracks.
When you are done, you mix down into one single audio track that can be played on anything, anywhere.

I use a software drummer, again an older version, called Groove Agent.

As an example,Gunslinger was recorded exactly this way.
Alan in his home,me in mine.
We just sent out own seperate files to each other, and they were then mixed down to complete the song as you hear it now.

So software wise..

CUBASE
LOGIC
CAKEWALK

Any of those, although there are many others.
I do believe there are one or two free software studios on the net.
I will try to find an example if anyone is interested.

Hey MHB9 it looks a lovely guitar and sounds great as well-down to you obviously. What i want to know is is it better than your Hammer (i think thats what you had before)and if so why.Is it easier to play,is it worth the extra money for this guitar compared to your other-can you really notice the difference.

Honestly, it is worth the extra cash I paid! Don't get me wrong I love the hamer, but this is better. It has a faster neck (by which I mean its thinner therefore playing faster is easy, better string clearance on the fretboard, the tuning pegs keep it in tune much better, the seymour Duncan pick ups make a huge difference to the sound... this guitar is just on the next level really

I have worked with musicans from all over the globe and never left my chair LOL......

Once you have something you can record to,be that a work station or standard pc with software studio, the world opens up.
No such thing as distance.

Such sites as Soundclick,Mixposure etc are full of global collaborations, virtual bands who have never met,but go onto make albums together.

It really is an amazing outlet.
Anyone insterested can either pm me,or ask here,if that's ok.

Nigel
