from Planet rock.com:

Motorhead guitarist Phil Campbell has revealed that he and drummer Mikkey Dee are a little peeved that they don’t feature more prominently in the new Lemmy documentary – PLUS he has revealed that the next Motorhead album may be an acoustic or covers album.

Blabbermouth picked up the story from French radio station Radio Metal in which Campbell speaks about why he and Dee don’t feature much in the new film.

"Speak to the movie people! That's what we're pissed off about. They spent three years following me around and Mikkey around, all of us, you know, three f***ing years and the biggest shot they got of me is laying down to sleep in the bus with 'Family Guy' on the TV! (Laughs) The movie's about Lem, but it's really insulting to us. What a bunch of c***s!"

He goes on to reveal that the next Motorhead album may be either a covers album or an acoustic album.

"I had the idea to do an acoustic album. We might also do a cover album. Our next album might be this album of covers. We've done loads of these. We've done 'Cat Scratch Fever', we've done 'Shoot 'Em Down' by Twisted Sister, 'Hellraiser' by Ozzy Osbourne, 'God Save The Queen' by the Sex Pistols, we got 'Rockaway Beach' by the Ramones and more. But this album is just an idea for the future, we don't know yet what's going to be on it."

And expect an autobiography of sorts from the guitarist in the future.

"I'm doing my book at the moment; it's going to contain a lot of funny stories . . . It's a book about all the f***ing unbelievable shit that goes down on the road. (Laughs) Funny stuff, yeah. It's not going to be about my life story, that's boring! But we don't know yet when it's going to be released. We're starting it now, but I guess we can expect it to be out in about three years."

Very interesting news! I haven't seen the Lemmy movie yet, so I didn't know about that. I would've expected Mikkey and Phil to be more prominent in the film than Phil makes it sound. I'd prefer a covers album over an acoustic one...(but a normal Motorhead album over both).

And wait...Motorhead hasn't done "Rockaway Beach" have they?? I know of all the other covers mentioned there, but not that one!

I don't really fancy either a covers album or an acoustic one, BUT being fair to the band, they continue to release quality albums with incredible regularity so they're more than entitled to do whatever they fuck they want!
When a band like Def leppard, who release a proper new album once every ten years or whatever it is, come out with a limp wristed covers album I just think that's a fucking insult to the fans.
But Motorhead have earned the right to do what they want, indulge themselves however they want!

Rockaway beach was recorded for "We're a Happy Family" Ramones Tribute album, but it does not seem to appear on any released versions of the album (unless others can tell me different). I got mine on a promo copy.

Really? For We're A Happy Family? Why would they have cut it? I really want to hear it now! Does anyone know if this is available for purchase anywhere at all?

Hellraiser is not strictly a cover as Lemmy co-wrote it.

I can understand Phil and Mickkey being p'd off,but the title of the film kind of gives it away LOL.
But if what they say is true then they SHOULD have been featured more within the context of Lemmy's present life surely?

Covers and Acoustic albums...
I have to say I'm not full of joy at the prospect of them.
I guess it all comes down to what they do and how they do it.
Yes they can do what they want,we're hardcore we can take it,but I'm not sure beyond the hardcore fans.

I would have thought with the notion that Motorhead won't last forever, that every real Motorhead album should come first.
By all means release a covers,an acoustic AND a normal Motorhead album all in one year,I'll buy em all smile

Just my thoughts anyways.

Phil and Mikkey are getting bonus features on the DVD extras dedicated to them respectively, so they will get their time, although it is easy to understand when you don't get a real word in edgewise in the final cut.
