I'd say that when you have more than one version of each album for no other reason that it exists more than one, you are a collector. Where the line is between collector and nutcase I don't now, but I'm afraid I might have passed it...

About 15 years or so ago i had this record autographed(if memory serves me correctly just by Lemmy but it might have been all 3 of them-i'm not sure) plus about another 100 records -a lot autographed. Then my record player broke so replaced it with a new cd player but still had all my records. Then i split with my missus and was skint and was in danger of losing my house so i sold the lot(no point keeping one record when you've sold your collection -right? )I got £50 for it which was good then i suppose.
I had Ozzy -blizzard of oz all autographed including Randy Rhoads ,Metallica kill em all autographed,Twisted Sister autographed <Maiden autographed plus about another 200 or so records -picture discs ,rare ones etc.Sold the lot!!! No more autographed records left-even when Lemmy autographed my Motorhead tattoo the tattooist fucked his signature up so i had to get it covered up(although you can still make out LEM through the cover up)
I now have a handful of records left although now some have been replaced with cd's.
Was it worth it i still ask myself.Well i kept my house and have moved on a lot since then but when i see the items the likes of yourselve,Juggernaut etc have got i am quite envious but hey i have the memories of meeting the band several times so still good i suppose.

WARNING! The following text might be a bit too serious for some of you.

Well Leedsmark, when the day comes and we all get too meet at the last mosh-pit, nothing we have now is worth more than fuck-all. When we face the reaper we don't have anything to take to the grave but the knowledge of our own deeds. And I believe that we should lead our life so that when the day comes we can leave with a clean conscience and our heads held high. That's far more important that owning 600 records.

I remember these quite thoughtful lines from Johnny Cash:
"Money cant buy back your youth when you're old. Or a friend when you're lonely, or a love that's grown cold. The wealthiest person is a pauper at times, compared to the man with a satisfied man."

Don't say I didn't warn you!!!

Yep,agreed mate.

I was another that had all the vinyl first issues.
Autographed.

I even got Eddie to autograph On Parole.
He said:

"What the fuck am I signing this for,I ain't on it" LOL...

But he signed it anyways.

We hit hard times, and I sold them all, along with a lot of other things.

But it's like Juggernaut says.
It doesn't matter,it isn't what counts.
Being there,being you,that's what counts.

I now have everything on CD.

Still got the music, still got the memories.
Still got the same love for the band.

As I have said before, that's why I love this thread.
So many things pop up on here fron yester year that I had,and to see them again, just makes ya smile smile

Can't afford to collect now, beyond main releases, and one or two extras on birthday and christmas.
But I'm content.

Nigel
