While I still wait for word on Judas Priest tickets to come out, I can now happily say that I can add Saxon to the list of bands I'm going to see this year

So, tickets in hand for CJ Ramone in July, and Saxon in September. As soon as I get my hands on my Priest ticket, I'll be content!

Pure magic. This was their 4th show into the tour, and Faulkner looked like he had been there for years. Can't be easy to replace KK. Setlist was fantastic, and I can' get Blood red skies out of my mind. Will see them again at High Voltage. Can't wait.

It's so crazy to me. Saxon is doing a headlining tour here in America, and when they stop to perform in Los Angeles, it's going to be in one of the smallest clubs in the city.

Since this is the case, I don't think attendance for this show will pass (if I had to just guess) around the four hundred mark tops...I'm probably wrong, but we'll see come September.

Good to hear. I'm seeing them next month and I'm a bit aprehensive about a KK-free Priest.

I could only make one day so I got a ticket for Friday. Shame about Motorhead on the Sunday (?), but I got to see the Big 4 as I doubt that's ever going to hit these shores again. Besides I'll see plenty of Motorhead in November, and outdoors (whilst great) just isn't a patch on seeing them inside.

Going on the friday with my 9 year old lad, coming home, going back on sunday just to see Motorhead

You should see how much luxury they got in England on their tour here! It's a disgrace that Saxon get lumbered with small clubs and venues, they can barely get a venue where they can push the volume and really get the levels right to really show off their skills. Wacken's become their stomping ground for good bloody reason, Germany's one of the few places that properly appreciates true Rock and Metal by giving it plenty of breathing room.

Saxon usually always get stuck with places like Nottingham Rock City and small venues in big cities that dwarf places where Motorhead play, and they're a bigger and more talented act than their gig organizers and tour managers give them credit for.

Is that the case? I thought they had it better in the United Kingdom. They probably do, but from what you say, not by a whole lot. I didn't check any other venues they're playing here in The States, but this one is puny.

I totally agree with what you're saying. Saxon should be getting better gigs.

Did that last year at Download. Friday for AC/DC then home, then work Saturday, then mates round on the ale for the (crap) England match, then off for Motorhead et al. on the Sunday. Bloody knackering but a great weekend.
