The ones I got were about £8 delivered and I tested them against my speakers at full tilt last night. They blocked out some of the volume, and all the distortion, but were wonderfully clear. I'll look something of a twat, but at least I won't be stuffed on the phone at work the next day (like I usually am).

I only have these cheap foam ones but they are orange so I might look like an ass too but oh well 'better plugged than motor-eared'..

The ones I got don't muffle the sound, they just lower the volume, which in turn makes it sound better. Only issue is the levels of ear wax they remove......
