Ever been excited when you finally purchased that album you've been chasing forever, only to be left feeling let down and disappointed when hearing it?

It's happened to me a few times over many years of collecting.

So, what are the albums that remain buried, forever entrenched, gathering dust at the very back of your collection?

Here's a few of mine:

The Rolling Stones: 'Their Satanic Majesties Request' (1967):
The Stones feeble reply to The Beatles 'Sgt. Pepper'. Insipid.

Uriah Heep: 'Wonderworld' (1974):
Instant hate when i first heard this. Disjointed mish-mash of ordinary tunes.

Queen: 'A Day At The Races' (1977): I'm not really a Queen fan, but 'Tie Your Mother Down' is a killer riff and imo, one of rock's great tunes (and one of my favorite ever songs), and the only reason i shelled out hard earned $$$ for a Queen album. It is the album opener, and it's rapidly down hill after that.

Deep Purple: 'Stormbringer' (1974): I quite like the title track, and that's pretty much it. Purple and funk? No thanks No wonder Ritchie walked after this.

Black Sabbath: 'Technical Ecstasy' (1976): Probably a bit harsh, considering Sabbath's first 5 albums are all Metal classics, but this is a stinker. I disliked this so much, i never bothered with the follow up 'Never Say Die'. Haven't heard this album in over 20 years....

AC/DC: 'Fly On The Wall' (1985): One of my favorite all time band's, this is imo, their lowest moment. Never bothered to upgrade this to CD. Another one i haven't played for many years.

Judas Priest: 'Turbo' (1986): Uuugghh!

Deep Purple: 'Slaves And Masters' (1990): What were they thinking? Joe Lynn Turner and Deep Purple? Then again, Joe Lynn Turner and anybody is bad enough.

Well, there you go. I have a few more i may post later on.

C'mon guys, don't be shy. What have you got? Give us your worst....

So Hammer, you like Joe Lynn Turner don't you? grin

Queen - Made In Heaven.
I had listened some Queen music but it was the first CD of them I bought, I really didn't like it.

Mate, you're not alone there, The Clash had conned me too. I didn't mind their first album, but yeah, i do have a copy of 'London Calling' in a 'Double CD Pack' with 'Give 'em Enough Rope', and both were 'contenders'.

On 'Fly On The Wall', i just didn't like it. A lot would probably disagree, but i think it's predecessor 'Flick Of The Switch' was far superior.

Can't think of one redeeming thing he's ever done. Never liked the guy. I was put even more off side when joining Purple, he stated, in reference to the great Ian Gillan "I refuse to sing other people's drivel"

Fuck, what an ego.

That p!ssant couldn't shine Gillan's shoes.

I liked Fly on the wall. It has been a long time since I've listened to Ballbreaker or stiff upper lip though, I find them dull.

I went out and bought Def Leppard's Slang album the day it came out. I've hated it ever since. I may have given it one or two more tries in the years since, now it is collecting dust. I didn't buy anything else they did after that either. The band that did High and Dry, and Pyromania is long gone.

Never been a great fan of Def Leppard. 'Pyromania' was a little too slick/polished for my liking, but 'High'n'Dry' is a pretty good listen.

These probably aren't the worst, but made me the most disappointed
Twisted Sister-Love is for suckers
after Under the Blade their albums weren't as good and then they released this pile of shit (which finished them off)
Metallica-re-load , for me the black album was ok-ish and then load was listenable,so Re-load was then released -another pile of shit
Venom-Possesed
Machine Head-The burning red
Exciter-Long live the Loud
Luckily i don't have the worst in my collection otherwise i would own queen.acdc (after back in black),purple, stones, def leppard etc haha
