On DVD? Any good?
I intend to grab a copy in the next week or two.
I got it on cd only. I don't go a huge bundle on music dvd's, and usually just rip the audio and listen to that rather than keep watching the video. If a release is a dvd or cd, I will more often than not go for cd option. As for the music, it's very good but I am surprised at how low the crowd seem to be in the mix. You can tell it's a big crowd, but they just aren't in your face as much as I would have expected given it's a mad-chant to everything-South American crowd. The band sound good, although having seen the set 4 times last year, it does feel a bit odd that all the patter has been removed from the audio. It's a bit like Death on the Road in that respect, all music with nothing but cheering between songs. Not the bands best live album, but definitely a good addition to the ever expanding number of live Maiden lp's.
Thanks for the feedback.
Saw 'em down here last year, and gotta say they were a little disappointing. The band were tight as fuck (as always) and really going for it, but, there were problems with the mix. Bruce's vocal and Nicko's drums kept cutting in and out through a lot of the gig.
I saw 'em on the 'Somewhwere Back In Time Tour' in '08 (where they were magnificent), and way back in '85 in their prime on the 'World Slavery Tour'. Last year was easily the most disappointing of the three (can't win 'em all i suppose).
I saw Lem and the boys about a month later, and they wiped the floor with Maiden.
Having said all that, i'll still pick up a copy. You can never have too much live Maiden
