Slightly over a year ago I received a call from a friend that I hadn't seen in about 20 years. I noticed she had a photo of herself and another girl sitting with Lemmy who was playing an acoustic guitar. I emailed her and wrote something like 'OMG you knew Lemmy!" She replied that she's known lemmy for about 10 years.

Back to the call - She called me late one night while she was hanging out with Lemmy. She told me that Lemmy was going to put me on the guest list for the Toronto show they would be headlining. I was shocked to hear from her on the phone after not talking to her for so long. I thanked her for asking Lemmy to put me on the guest list. Her reply was "don't thank me, thank Lemmy." I was sort of in shock and didn't know what to say to him because I was stunned. She repeated that I should thank Lemmy a couple of more times. I was nervous that I would say something stupid to Lemmy because I was still in shock. I asked her to thank Lemmy for me which she did while I was still on the phone. The only thing I could think of to say was "Motorhead was the loudest concert I have ever been to." She relayed that to him. (That was a really stupid thing to say and I realized it as soon as I got off the phone.) I just couldn't think at the time because I was still in shock.

to be continued in a few minutes.....

So the day of the show came and we were having a snowstorm. I went to get my ticket and there was an aftershow pass in the envelope. (I didn't expect that). I loved the show. I didn't really know the new material, which I assumed there would be lots of. It turned out almost everything they played were songs that I knew including Fire, Fire which they didn't play that often on that tour. I had brought earplugs because I was afraid that the volume level might be like the '82 show. It was nowhere near that level so I took the earplugs out after a while.

So after the concert ended I didn't really know where to go. One of the staff told me that they would let us know (all the people who had aftershow passes) About an hour after the show they called most of us. A few people waiting did not even know that the aftershow meeting with Lemmy was happening because none of the staff bothered to tell them. So we go to a backstage hall and after everyone except me and a couple of other guys are taken to a room to meet Lemmy. They didn't let me go in. They said there were too many people inside. I was told to wait until some people left. So we're waiting in the hall for 2 hours or so with a staff member standing at the door to another hallway that the room with Lemmy was in. So the staff member is told Lemmy had just left. I was in shock. The staff didn't tell anyone that there were other people waiting.

So I went out to walk to my car. Mikkey was sitting in the bus and I saw the bus driver who informed me that Lemmy doesn't come back out after going in the bus (totally understandable). I walked to my car and drove home in the snowstorm.

I felt bad that I couldn't even just say thanks to Lemmy for putting me on the guest list.

Anyway, my friend knows Lemmy pretty well and might be able to get me in, in the future....

I forgot to mention the club which I'm really pissed off with. It's called Kool Haus aka the Guvernment. I will not be going there again and usually tell other people that the place sucks. I had another somewhat bad experience in that club.

So those of you wondering what the aftershow passes looked like, I found someone selling one on ebay.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/MOTORHEAD-Genuin...=item43b1aa5f29

I never scanned mine because once it gets posted somewhere, I wouldn't doubt that some people may try to print one to get backstage (I don't mean any of the regular members here but I'm referring to visitors who aren't members).

The difference with mine is that it has the initials LK on the left before the date and mine is not signed since the dummies at the club didn't let me meet Lemmy.
One thing puzzling about the ebay ad is that he refers to it as a 'card' but it is actually a sticker. The sticker is made of some sort of thin fabric-like material. The color though is the same as mine.

I arrived at last years gig in Southampton some four hours early. I waited and waited for Lemmy, after waiting for 3 hours, I was hungry to went to get something to eat. When I returned the other guys waiting outside the venue said that I had just missed him and that they were soon doing soundcheck I was gutted.
