No, I'm here pal. I was very happy when I saw this thread's title, but no good news yet...

Motorhead always usually announce that they're working on a new album officially, so if the band haven't said it then it's not happening just yet.

I'll bet it will be next year.

Don't be so certain, the year is young.

Since '96 (Overnight Sensation) they've been steadfastly releasing an album every 2 years, so I'm optimistic for this year. That said there has been talk about TWIO vol. 2 getting a release soon, so maybe they're gonna slow the studio stuff down a little and compensate with another live offering so soon after the last one. I'd rather we got an album as good as TWIO that took a bit longer than they just rushed something out. Besides, they deserve a rest.

2013 should be time for Motorhead to release their 'White Album' then. I'm expecting a double set, with one record of cover versions and one originals. There will be a token on the inside cover for a special edition of Lemmy's solo album to be released posthumously in 2033. This will eventually be cancelled as Lemmy will, in fact, rise from the dead and take his rightful place as our Messiah / God rolled into one, which will save on devotional paraphernalia, that being the mythical 'warpig' snaggletooth t-shirt.

I don't think that Motorhead would have had a chance to work on a new album as it seems that they have been on the road for the past year and a half. Lemmy also has a solo album he wants to do.

They have already said its going to be 2013 im sure.....There has been no time to record and aparently the Lem solo album is due this year as well as The world is ours vol2 so theres plenty to look forward to.....plus the Segregates EP of course.....hahaha

Ok. I hope this doesn't effect a The World is ours vol 2. I know many bands that they released Vol 1 of some album and never Vol 2 etc... I hope this won't be a case. Specially if Lemmy is angry how poor sound and all that was with vol 1.. I hope he doesn't say "Fuck Vol 2 and all that.. let's make a new studio album". I think it would be great to have Vol 2 now and then studio album BUT maybe they will have different approach, maybe they will release new studio album and than Vol 2, after that again new studio album and than Vol 3 etc etc etc...

The interviewer didn't always ask very good questions but there are some quite interesting comments, including (ta da!) his take on recording new material for an album this year, which can be found around the 13 minute mark... for any impatient Bastards out there! He also mentions his favourite Motorhead album and his least favourite track..

They had taken their time with TWIY because it was their first studio album on the band's own label.

A new album would be fuckin' great!

Its gonna be next year i reckon.....Looks like we have TWIO Vol 2 and Lems solo album this year which is enough to keep me going for now.....I know vol 2 was supposed to be released in the spring but i think its gonna be October time now ready for the tour......

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing too. It might come out next year. They once released an album three years apart, that was between Another Perfect Day and Orgasmatron, which came out in 1983 and 1986 respectively.

3 years is just too long for me to wait

Yeah cheers good interview.....although from what Mikkey says the new vol2 TWIO has rock in RIO on it and wacken festival which has been seen before.......i hope this isnt the case and it has some never seen before stuff.....

When I was talking to Mikkey Dee at the first date of the Mayhem Festival, I asked him what the future held as far as recording went. I asked if they were still going to do a cover album as Lemmy had mentioned, but he says it's something they've considered doing on and off for years now. He says it's been more talk than anything, but will always be a possibility. As far as the six songs they've got go, judging from what he told me, they're all going to be original Motorhead material once more.

Until then (probably next year) You can look out for The World Is Ours Vol. 2 by the end of this year. I'm sure most of you knew that already, though!

you know a new album of new tunes would be great, i was also thinking that a new album of totally motorized cover tunes would be pretty cool too. I'm sure Lemmy and the boys have their own favorites, but i might suggest a few myself like:

Cities on Flame - the classic heavy monster from BOC's 'On Your Feet or On Your Knees' live album.
Eve of Destruction - classic anti-war by Barry McGuire.
Barbed Wire by Link Wray (also known as Run, Chicken, Run), they could do it as an instrumental or Lemmy could add lyrics (maybe "Run, Bastard, Run"!).
Dio - I Speed at Night.
Twenty Flight Rock - was that Gene Vincent?

Ballroom Blitz - The Sweet, hey what the hell why not.
