Watched it, it's actually very good and worth buying if you can get a fair deal. It discusses the history of heavy metal via a family tree based on all sub genres of metal through the years, as well as looking into the controversies and hatred surrounding metal from the 1980's and features a shiteload of metal and rock icons talking about their love for metal and their careers (Lemmy included). Sam Dunn knows exactly what he's talking about and tries to get as much of a full story of metal as he can into the film itself.

in case it's of interest: the director of "a headbangers journey" did another movie called "global metal", good imo (speaking from a not-metal-fan point of view)... if they have a good package-deal somewhere, i'd go for that...

He also did Maiden's tour documentary Flight 666, and that was a damn good watch as well. Sam Dunn's no patronizing amateur with regards to rock and metal so you get a fair sided doc with accurate information on both Headbanger's Journey and Global Metal, although I believe Global Metal featured much darker metal than the first one because of the fact that black, death and heavy thrash metal were the most popular genres across the other parts of the world.

cool sounds pretty good then. I've got Flight 666 which is really good. I looked on Amazon for 'Headbanger...' but they're asking £20 for it, bit much really imo...

Look in the new and used section on amazon when you open the info page on the DVD, some dirt cheap new and used copies going there.

Well I would say that HMV would be hefty prices, they aren't usually cheaper than amazon.
