I'm heading to the Detroit show on July 22nd and was wondering if anyone has any information about what to expect in regards to the VIP experience. I have read all of the info in regards to the "package" but I was wondering what time do Motorhead usually do the "meet and greet", will they sign anything etc.

I will be travelling from Toronto to Detroit (approx. 5 hrs) and want to ensure that I arrive in time and to be as prepared as possible to get the most out of this experience.

If anyone has anything to share it would be greatly appreciated!

Cheers!

I may end up going to Detroit as well but I haven't decided. Last time I was in Detroit was many years ago but it was really run down. At one point we drove through a bad neighborhood and there were some hookers there. One hooker had a black eye and another hooker had a broken arm.

Here is a link to the Mayhem Motorhead page, there is one post about the VIP experience.....doesn't sound like they were satisfied though.

Yeah I have to been to Detroit many times before, it can be pretty rough. As for the hookers you saw, maybe the one broke her arm giving the other one a black eye...

Let us know if you are going to Detroit, always nice to meet up for a beer with some fellow fans.

Hey Wolf,

It doesn't sound that bad, pictures, autographs and meeting the band. I don't give a shit if it's a "camping tent". Maybe that guy is more used to the $1200 Madonna VIP packages, good luck even getting a moment with her.

And hell, I LOVE Doritios!

I expected a camping type tent. It's better to sit there than under the hot sun for hours.

The most interesting thing about the VIP thing is watching the band from the stage. There are ways to meet the band for free though.

Hey it's all good with me I just look forward to meeting Lem and Mickkey again and Phil for the first time.....need his sig on my "The World Is Ours" Vol 1 to complete the 3. I will bet Lem and the boys hang in the tent for a good bit they are the best when it comes to fans.

Lemmy in his own words arrived today and i found this little quote which applies to the current tour...

"Slipknot are nothing to do with rock n roll. There not a rock band, they've got no tunes,no chords or choruses. They have no idea how to behave on stage and they wear masks and red boiler suits,i just dont see any redeeming features, well maybe one - there pretty good at disguises.I came from the Beatles and Little Richard, they come from the circus.Maybe i'm too old to get it,but i dont mind because there crap" Lemmy 2000

Well said that man............

Couldn't agree with Lem more on them, Motorhead is the only reason I'm going to Meyham at all....Anthrax is ok but not worth going to Mayhem for.

Lem should be sharing festival stages with Berry, Page/Plant, Lurkers, Quo, D'Purple, Nazareth, Charlie Harper, Venom, Hot Rods, UFO, Rezillos, Gunslinger, Gentl'Pistols, 999, Upstarts, Cock Sparrer, Ozzy, Priest, Who, U'Heep, Roger 'Floyd', Dammed, Buzzcocks and so on but because such festival would cost too too much they shove shit over Motorhead.
Slipknot is one of the most stupid acts I have ever seen (on youtube of course). And don't even get me started with that 'Big 4' bullcrap. These metal fests put Motorhead on the list but they are not headliners? I thought Motorhead was the great godfather of it all and suddenly they are placed under the 'Big 4'?!?!?
