So what were they like.I ask as i am seeing them at High voltage on Saturday (as you well know)
A hell of a lot better than I expected to be honest. The setlist was a bit hit and miss for me before I went, but most of the songs came over really well live. In the end it was only the odd track (Turbo Lover being the main culprit) that didn't do much for me. Painkiller was "brutal" as my mate put it, Night Crawler was amazing, the old stuff sounded great with a modern day heavy edge and the 'classics' really got the crowd going (be sure to memorise the words to Breaking The Law cause Rob will expect the audience to do the work on that one). The lights, lasers and flames were great (although that could go either way for you outside) and the band seemed to really gel. Richie Faulkner looked like he'd been with the band 20 years and they all seemed to enjoy themselves. All in all I had a great night, with head banging and sing a long moments a plenty.
Next up, Maiden.
