anyone ever had a problem taking a camera to a motorhead gig in the uk?

In the 80's venue security took my camera and smashed it.
But judging by the amount of camera/phone footage on youtube these days I would imagine most places would kind of expect it.

yeah, thats what i thought but was thinking of going to the wolverhampton gig. i notice on the venues website it says strictly no cameras. just wondered if this was enforced or if its just to put people off? (not taking a big slr or anything, but a biggish compact camera)

When was the last time anyone was frisked at the door? In the 80's you used to get the cursory pat down, but nothing now. I think these days, everyone is too shit scared of being sued for touching someone inappropriately to worry whether they are smuggling anything iffy into the gig.

Re cameras, I often take a compact digital to gigs, for pics before/after with my mates or to get pics when the band are talking or during ballads and my interest is waning. As far as I know, all you might be stopped for is a huge great lens on a camera, like some the sort a pro photogropher might have. They can hardly stop you taking in a small camera when everyone is taking one in anyway courtesy of their mobile.

The rules have changed quite a lot the last years. When I first attended Swedenrock, they didn't even allow compact cameras, now you can bring anything, videocameras included...

I always bring my digital camera, no probs.

coolio. i never usually take acamera but i've now got a decent compact so want some snaps! i know all you ever see at gigs now is a sea of iphones...just don't want to get turned away having travelled 300 odd miles!

Zero problem with Wolves, always take camera with me to that show/venue,one week today, fantastic!

Picked ticket up today and could only bloody get balcony standing, so will be sold out by end of week i suspect
