I've become mildly fascinated by evolution of Lemmy's tone over the years -- even when he just just playing largely similar Marshall's. For instance, to my ears anyway, it increasingly seems to me like his EQ knob settings in the '80s -- bass down, everything else up -- must be almost the opposite of his Hawkwind settings -- which sound to me more like bass up, most everything else down.

Bass player here. Love cranking the distortion all the way and just hammering along to Orgasmatron.

Today my MF280L arrived. Now I have the full stack.

starting out on bass is a good shout, the guitar comes easyer to you that way. playd bass for years but felt limited, unless your playing with others bass can get samey

I started out on guitar and switched to bass later. It has more to do with which instrument suits you best. I can fidle for hours on my basses at home. And sometimes I get my classical or my electric guitar.

This Rickenbacker 4004LK bass is for sale (by a fellow Rickresource forumite). I can not afford it unfortunately, but I think it would be awfully nice if it went to a Motorheadbanger or at least someone who likes Motorhead and not to someone who just collects Rickenbacker's. Asking price is 7500 dollar, but there is room for negotiation I think. Private message me your mail adres if interested and I will forward it to him.
