Now this is really strange, can't find this information online.
Now, I dont know how I forgot this or what happened but if someone have this informations it would be great.

Album "1916" was released in Feb 1991. When this album was recorded, finished? In November they got 12" EP The one to sing the blues so I figured the album was finished early 1991??

Album "Snake bite love" was released in March 1998 but when it was recorded and finished? Early 1998?

Album Hammered was released in april 2002 but when it was recorded? I heard they started recording it in September 2001 but when they finished? Early 2002??

Many thanks in advance.

A good way to estimate is by looking at their past tour dates. Whenever there's a big block of time off a few months in advance of a new album, chances are that's when they recorded it.

I was thinkin on that too but there is a problem. For example: Snake bite love was released in march 1998, new tour started in april. Last tour ended on 1 November 1997. So album could be recorded somewhere between November 1997 and February 1998. I wrote some stuff for my collection about albums, and I dont know in this example did they finished album until end of 1997 or early 1998. The year is important to me. I only need date (year) when it was finished, dont need dates of when recording started and how long was, only year when recording was finished, thats all.

Well did it ever occur to you that the band records albums over a period of weeks/months, and considering they write, arrange, record, mix, master, etc. all in the studio, it would stand to reason that they could start recording in one year and finish in another. So if they finish recording an album at 12:01 AM on 1 January 1998, you consider that recording an album in 1998? I don't really see why it matters in the first place. May I ask why you care to know this particular piece of information?

Im writing something about my collection for myself, for the future. Thats why I want to have informations about recording year. Yes you are right, if album for example started in late 1997 and finished in 1998 I consider that album 1998 album. And I have news; I found after 4 hours some interview with Lemmy where he said that "Snake bite love" was finished in late January 1998! Here is the link:

So one information finished, two more and thats it.

Now, what informations I found. In November 1990 Motorhead started recording session, they recorded a single "The one to sing the blues" 7" with track on b side which is not on album, they released it on 24 December. Now, on 5 January 1991 they released 12" The one to sing the blues which have one more song which is not on album. Album came as we all know in February 26. Is album finished until new year or maybe in January I cant be shore, maybe. We can believe what ever we want until we got some information that can be 100 percent true. I will believe (until we got information) that album was not completely finished before new year, because until Feb 26 is a lot of time for such label like Sony, I think they are usually faster. But we will see... About "hammered"; Cant be shore for this too, but Im more convinced that this album wasnt finished before 2002. They got a day before Sept 11 in USA in 2001, Phil and Mikkey. Than attacks on New York happened and than they started writing somewhere on beggin of November, Mikkey said that in one interview. Album was released in april. It is little hard to believe (but not impossible) that they could wait all the way until april to release it if album was finished before new year. Triple H was on song Serrial Killer, I was trying to find out information when he was in studio in 2001 or 2002 but I couldnt find it. I dont remember that they have such a long waits when they finishing and releasing new studio album, at least last 20 years. Or maybe Im wrong. And I founded one interview which was on March 16 and title was "New album finished". Why this album wasnt few months before in December for example? So I couldnt be shore 100 percent, just I think those two were finished on year when they were released. I hope maybe someone will have better informations about this two albums. I love to search informations about Motorhead discography and stuff smile
