I've heard it a couple of times, but apparently the band have now set up their own record label, Motorhead Music?

What's the story here, and what happened with SPV?

I thought that after years of being dicked around by greedy record labels and the like, they were finally happy with SPV. Does anyone know why they've apparently left SPV and started their own actual label?

Motorhead Music is a division of UDR Records GmbH, it does give the band a dedicated label for their music but it is not a 100% private venture (As a label dedicated to one band as a privately owned company would bleed money). SPV went back into work in 2009 after insolvency proceedings earlier in that year, but I suppose most artists chose to relocate for fear of it happening again.

Saxon and Girlschool are also signed to UDR, both former artists of SPV, and Saxon also have a division named Militia Guard Music.

Thanks for the info guys, that makes a lot more sense.

Aww fuck,... this means that the video footage of the 30th Anniversary show in London is in limbo. We know that SPV did record the gig, as several songs (raw footage) were included with the special edition of the Inferno album, but I was hoping that a new live DVD of the 30th Anniversary was going to be released.

Who knows what's going to be done with it now? It'll be lying in someone's vault...
