One of only times i've bought a bootleg poster after the gig, i was that inspired. Remember a week and a ha;lf later picking up "Sounds" at railway station on way to college to see the news about Cliff, gobsmacking to say the least. Oh well, years on we're still as inspired by some bands so life is good, even when life is shit some songs still work and the prospect of gigs coming up still enthuses me

While we were exchanging these notes yesterday, it was actually Cliffs birthday and he would have been 50.

[quote=timtearle] Hey, I didn't realise it until somebody just mentioned it to me....... But having seen alot of musical icons of mine pass on recently, we're in grim psotion of every year seeing more go that way. Cranking "Blue for you" by Status Quo today, can't bloody wait for the shows in March, they meant as much to me as Lemmy & co. in the 80s. And to coin a phrase, I'm glad I'm seeing them together before any of them bloody die!!!

Van Halen 'Van Halen' Slade 'Til Deaf Do Us Part' Motorhead 'Orgasmatron' Iron Maiden 'Seventh Son Of A Seventh Son' 7th Son is a classic album IMO. Really looking forward to Download and seeing them revisit the setlist of the time (sort of) on the Maiden England tour. Saw it first time round on the 7th Son tour in '88 and it was superb. On a related note, I see that the maiden England VHS is finally getting a DVD release next month, along with a CD and vinyl release. I have the VHS and the VHS/CD combo from '88 and '94, but they lack the encore tracks (the CD also lacks 2 other tracks). These have been restored so it's the full set. http://www.ironmaiden.com/maiden-england-88-concert-to-be-released-on-dvd.html
