Could really go for an unlucky fried kitten tonight, Stella Artois will have that effect. Sadly it also has the effect of rendering you unable to drive to the nearest KFC to collect, and the bastards don't deliver. I know cause in a really drunken haze I once rang them and tried, quite forcefully, to get them to. They said no frown

Anyway, listening tonight to

Riot Fire-Down Below
Pearl Jam-Vs and Ten
Sea Hags-Sea Hags
Thin Lizzy-Fighting
Johhny Cash-The legendary (best of)

As old posters on here will know, for me Kill em all ,lightning, and puppets are the albums I love. Was there at the start with Metallica and fucking love the early stuff. Was gutted when Newsted left( go on youtube and listen to his new ep,Newsted -Metal,).Cant listen to reload or shit anger, but I rate Death Magnetic up there with their earlier stuff. So,timtearle,i think you ought to get yourself a copy-I don't think you'll be disappointed

Isn't it odd how different albums are perceived? For me, I love kill 'em all, ride the lightening, and master of puppets. Justice for all, Metallica and load are ok......... and reload, st anger, and death magnetic aren't even worth listening to. I was really hacked off about death magnetic, as all the reviews were banging on about a 'return to form'.......which it wasn't (in my view). Then again, when ride the lightning came out, I didn't like it at first as it was so different from kill 'em all.......but after a few listens, it turned out to be a classic. Maybe I should try death magnetic again.

Hey musicmatt. We're not too far away from agreeing with each other,in fact the only album we disagree on is Death Magnetic.Maybe a few more listens will change your mind?

cheers mark/matt, i found an itunes voucher today so i think detah magnetic might be getting purchased with it. Didn't know newsted was recording again so will definitely check that out. Saw metallica at hammersmith about a week before cliff burton died with anthrax opening, one of best double headers i've ever seen. LOL we had some bloody blinding years for gigs in the 80s and 1986 was one of them
