Gillian, live at Reading, from the Double Trouble album. I'd forgotten just how good they were. How couldyouforget that? Good question. It's just that I haven't played any Gillan stuff for ages. Gillan were the second gig I ever went to (Magic tour in 1982 at Southend........Girlschool in 1981 were the first) and they were incredible. I was browsing on YouTube yesterday and there is some great Gillan footage on there.

double truoble is a cracker, the studio set is really good too. There's a Gillan at Glasgow apollo cd i have somewhere, think it's off the Magic tour, there's official releases of a few of those shows. Had an acquaintance who was a huge fan and sadly, after meeting IG, promptly sold all his stuff, cos he was somewhat of a serious arsehole in the flesh. Great singer nonetheless, "M.A.D" is a proper classic

yeah it's a looming problem as i've got about 1000 tapes stored under stairs somewhere. Lost a C-120 of Reading fest 1982 that i tried playing and recording to another tape, it streteched and bloody unspooled on me, 30 mins each of MSG, Y&T, Twisted Sister and Bernie Marsden gone for good. Used to religiously record live sets of Tommy Vances Friday Rock show back then. BBC must have alot of this stuff in archives

standing in a queue is a great riff but a friggin awful lyric, some killer rhymes - "standing ina queue - we dont know what to do - we haven't got a clue" - it HAS to be an ironic lyric, well i bloody hope so!
Brother arrives at 3pm, pick kids up, drop them at parents and in pub in Wolves for 5, unbelievably excited about Quo woohoo
