Girls still play now, and always good value. The most dodgy support tour i saw them on was when they opened for gary glitter, bizarre night, luckily i was pissed. Ran into a guy with a "Hit and Run " tour shirt on in my local recently, he was surprised to know they were still going. Kelly Johnson was a very sad loss
Very sad indeed. I quite like their rerecorded version of Hit and Run, but you can't beat the original. I normally don't like female vocalists but the first 2 or 3 Girlschool albums are superb.
As for Gary Glitter, you were lucky that Girlschool opened for him. When I saw him it was the Village People, although I didn't actually see him in the end. After waiting for him to come on for ages the crowd were informed he had injured his arm and wouldn't play. We couldn't make the rescheduled gig, and got a refund. So basically we drove to London for a free 40 minute Village People gig. Not my proudest gig going moment
