'Golden Summernight' in 1981 (?) was the first show. Completely blown away (though I owned all albums). From then on every single tour, usually Stuttgart.

Another nice one was at Poperinge, Belgium in 1984 with Twisted Sister and those dudes from California, Metallisomething...

And I loved the atmosphere at 'Rock am Härtsfeldsee', Germany. The last tour, btw.

The worst show was MH and Manowar at Villingen-Schwenningen, Germany under the banner of 'Easter Metal Blast' back in the days without a proper record deal. A very, very tired band. But on the other hand the only time I saw Lemmy singing without his bass on one song (Deaf Forever?). I think Wurzel played it.

Was there a particular reason for that?

The first time MH played in Brazil. Fuc**** loud, blow the amps so the show finishes with half hour... Second day was ok... and they had to do a third date to compensate the first one... I was there...

to my shame I have to admit that i never saw them live!

My first (and so far only gig) was here, in Zagreb, in 2006. It was great, but not as breath-taking as I thought it would be. Maybe my expectations were too high.

My first one was in 1999 snike bite love tour. It was in Slovenia, Moskanjci on bikers festival. It was the loudest show I ever been, my ears still ringin hahahaha!!.. My second show was in Pula (croatia) in 2002, hammered tour, it was so clean sound and not so loud, but it was the great atmosphere. Third show was in jun Zagreb (croatia) 2006 still inferno tour set list, it was the worst one. Fourth show was in the same year december 2006 in -Berlin columbia halle and it was kiss of death tour, and it was ok, just ok! Im dont know but I think motorhead is much more better outside than inside, on this festivals there was much more energy from the fans...

Every show they've played in Toronto since 1994 including the one where they opened for Iron Maiden. I've also driven to Montreal and Ottawa for shows. In August, I will see them with Judas Priest, and in September I will go to their show in Montreal.

Waaaaayyyyy back when I was younger they came to town with Exciter and Mercyful Fate, the album they were supporting was No Remorse.
Then in 04 when they were with Maiden and Dio, supporting Hammered. It sucked, only because they were "allowed" 40 minutes to perform, freakin joke that was.
Next will be on The Masters of Metal tour when they hit The Woodlands..4th row baby!!!.
Unfortunately the guys don't really get down to Texas all that often.

Let us know how Metal Masters went down. I'm sending a girl that works for me to cover that show!

Huh, I might be the most tragic one here. Had tickets for 4 shows, the first was in 1983:

1st: my grandma died the same day, couldn't see the show
2nd: had the flu, no chance to leave the bed
3rd: car broke down on the way to the show, missed it
4th: made it! Frauenfeld in Switzerland. Very short concert, way to hot, bad sound. But I saw them, less than 10 meters away from Lemmy

I had to wait 25 years or so.....better late than never.

my best memory is of Southampton on the Inferno Tour. Meeting and interviewing Tim Butcher and him getting me an aftershow pass. I was a bit cheeky though and walked past a security guard and up the side stage door so I got to watch the show from the wings. This was something I thought I'de never ever get the chance to do. I will be forever in his debt.

i saw em at download 08. personally (and this is only a first time live seers opinion) i thought they were bloody brilliant. they were sounding damn good and adding one night stand to the set made my damn day

"bad sound" makes me wonder - i have seen 'em in zürich 2 times and both shows have been pretty good, soundwise. at the show in 2006, mikkey explained something about swiss volume-restrictions - means it wasn't as loud as usual, but almost chrystal-clear (well, for MH-standards ) ...

Oh, it was loud - But I don't care about volume, I always wear earplugs. Once your hearing is gone, it's gone.

The concert in Frauenfeld was in a wooden barn (okay, that's exaggerated, but not much). The whole building was shaking
Besides that, it was extremely hot and humid inside. Water was running from the walls!
I've been inside for Rose Tattoo (maybe 20 minutes, then I had to leave, clothes soaking wet! Luckily it was a very warm and sunny day and evening) and for Motörhead, of course.
They were playing for 55 Minutes, not even Overkill as last song.

Lemmy seemed to be pretty pissed, some idiot threw a beer cup at him right at the beginning, they left stage for a few minutes. After they returned, Lemmy said "once more and the show is over".
Of course the usual drunken idiots didn't stop, might have been the reason why they only played one song as encore.

@roda: Lemmy said he'd always fuck up either the lyrics or the groove playing this particular song so he'd hand his bass to his bandmate.

acctually, the barn-like looking venue got me curious in the first place (have seen some images when the show was announced this spring)... but right, 55 minutes is pretty short, especially as it was a headliner-show. makes me wonder as usually they are dealing with beer-throwers a bit more relaxed...

with the volume you are right, doesn't really matter. i was just surprised how clear they can sound when they have to turn it down a bit (like in zürich), it was still loud though. on various other occassions, it was just loud and the sound sucked... not that i really need chrystal-clear sound at concerts, but it was nice for a change...

I personally haven't heard his guitar in Berlin (ok, just a little bit).

I clearly remember my first Motorhead show. December 15th, 1985 at the Cabaret Metro in Chicago. I was three feet from the house amps and it was all white noise to me. I had to read Lemmy's lips to tell what song was being played. My ears were ringing for a solid seven days! Plaster dust was coming off the ceiling. Jumpin' Jesus on a pogo stick the boys were loud that evening.

I use to work at club owned by Slim Jim Phantom, so Lemmy came by few times. In fact thats how I became a fan of Motorhead. Lemmy was so cool compared to the usual celebrity, I went and checked out his shit. Been a fan ever since!!

Hey all. I was supposed to see Motorhead back in 1991 on the Operation: Rock-N-Roll Tour (w/ Judas Priest, Alice Cooper, Dangerous Toys, & Metal Church) in Middletown, NY. I was there at the concert and found out Lemmy injured himself and cancelled a few dates and the show I was happened to be one of those shows.

But after 17 years and through all the trials and obstacles, I FINALLY saw Motorhead [for the very FIRST time] on the Metal Masters Tour this past Saturday (Aug 9th) at PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel, NJ. It was nothing short of awesome!! I think all the bands played well. Judas Priest and Heaven & Hell (Dio's Black Sabbath as I call it) set lists could have been a little better, but the performances kicked ass. Not bad being for the 3rd date of the tour.

I am very grateful that I was able to catch one of my TOP 10 favorite bands. I hope to see them more often when they tour.

i've only ever had the chanse to see em once at Download 08, they were fuckin brilliant. got a very small chat in with Wurzel who was a fuckin laugh riot to talk with.

First saw Motorhead late '76 early '77 Remember the White Line Fever date in Northampton - opened with Motorhead, closed with Motorhead and I am sure encored with it as well!

Saw the Bomber tour with Saxon at De Monfort and Hammersmith.

Last saw the band in November 2005 in Nottingham. Very amusing as MD trashed an acoustic guitar.

Got my ticket on order for DeMonfort this year!

What can I say?

Life changing gigs! Up close and personal with the band just a stage monitor away!

Very, very loud with the backline very clear. Lemmy was on stage right in those days.

Cannot remember set lists, but tracks like Motorhead and White Line Fever stand out. I remember the sound being very harsh - in a great way.

A classic band - the new stuff sounds amazing! Cannot wait to see them again!

I cannot remember where/when the first Motorhead gig I saw. It was somewhere out Bedfordshire way as I was still at school! It was before the Northampton White Line/Threshold dates though.

I would have loved to have seen Larry Wallis though as I am a big Fairies fan.

What I liked was they didn't do the typical greatest hits set lists (like certain other bands usually do- *cough**cough*Poison*cough**cough*) LOL!! Not that there is anything wrong with that. It just nice to see other songs that have been released on their albums be performed live other then just "the hits." Its the fact that Motorhead hasn't changed to fit the sign of the musical times. They have stayed the same.

First time I saw Motorhead was in Santa Cruz California when Motorhead opened up for Ozzy on his Blizard of Oz tour.

Next time was on the Operation Rock n Roll tour with Alice Cooper and Judas Priest at the Shoreline Ampitheater in Mt.View California

I also saw Motorhead with Black Sabbath at San Jose-State College in San Jose California... Sabbath was on the Cross Purposes tour.

I'll be seeing Motorhead this August at the Shoreline Again.

first time was with slayer in Toronto 1988...then with "Black Sabbath" in 1995 Toronto - Sabbath should not have even played after motorhead!!...then Vancouver with Nashville Pussy in 2000...then Vancouver with with Morbid Angel (ugh!) in 2002...then EVERY show on the US leg of the Inferno tour cept for the final one (roughly 30 in total)...plus the vancouver inferno show...how many is that??...not enough!!!

oh yeah, and i have not seen a bad one!...in fact, they just get better!!

The Rage, Vancouver 1999 with Dropkick Murphys and Hatebreed. First time I had seen MH in 13 years, I got goosebumps when Lemmy walked on stage through the smoke.
Summer Sonic Osaka Japan 2007 - the show itself was good, but great experience to see MH in foreign land

Motorhead headlined that CNE show. Krokus second bill. I think I remember hearing that 4000 people were at that show. Next summer they came to Toronto with Robbo and 600 people showed up. That was another highlight show I should have added. It was so hot that summer, and Lemmy came on stage and I swear he looked like he hadn't taken a shower in 2 months. He looked like such a dirtbag, his hair was so greasy and stringy, but he came out with a cig in his mouth and I'll never forget opening Back at The Funny Farm with his eyes bugged out at the crowd.

Zagreb in 2006, and Metalcamp (Tolmin, Slovenia) in 2007. Both of them were great shows, although I am not really fond of the fact that they have almost the same playlist for years already.

blame the promoters for not giving out infos to the crowd. imo it took 'em way too long to let people know what's up, no wonder some got angry (most people i talked to had no problem with the delay after they heard about the flight-problems)... the extremly cheap booze may have helped to heat up the atmosphere, too...

but all in all i agree, it was a pretty nice afternoon/night/morning...

Back in 1985 it was going to be my my "1st" MH gig in Pello here in Finland but they cancelled it couple of hours before the doors were open and the MH busses headed over the border to Sweden; damn we were so ANGRY!It was the "It never gets dark" tour. Then back in 88 summer saw them in Hämeenlinna at the "Giants of rock" festival where the live album "Nö sleep at all" was recorded. After that I´ve attented (or have tried: got family, kids were born, was uninployment...etc bla blaah blaah) allmost all MH gigs here in Finland to date. Also seen them once in UK (30th anniversary gig 2005 London Hammy), Ireland and the latest was in Bremen Germany. Next summer maby Sweden, jag måste tänka på det:)

I flew down from Seattle in August, to see them in Los Angeles this year on the heaven and hell tour, I wear my shirt often and get comments all the time. I just got my tickets for The Head Cat(with Lemmy on vocals) in Seattle, on Jan 17th in a little club. Should be great. This is a reschedule from the shows they were going to do before they came back to Europe but the guitar player broke his arm. The guitar players arm has healed(i hope!)

Funny you should mention Lemmy singing and not playing his guitar...Not the last tour but the one before that in Glasgow, he had real problems with his guitar and he sandalmost a whole song with his guitar round his neck and Tim on his knees trying to fix it. The Lem never missed a note or a word...true professional.

So far I've seen Motörhead at Seinäjoki (2007) and Helsinki Ice Hall (2007 & 2008). Hope they will do atleast 1 gig here in Finland this year.

Seen them on the Bastards tour (my first gig ever - without earplugs off course!) and on the last two tours, all three times in Stockholm (Annexet and Hovet respectively).

Im going to see LEMMY this Saturday in Seattle with the head cat. I saw them last in LA on the Metal masters tour. Aug 2008. I want to see them in Europe!!!! Next time they tour there, I need a place to stay???

I met Lemmy at the Head Cat show in Seattle. I looked over in the bar and there he was playing pinball, I about shit my pants. He was so cool to me. Then pretty much the next 7 was at Rock City in Nottingham

Next time will be 5/6 at Sweden Rock festival.

I want to see them at a festival, i never been to one. Want them to play at Download again so i can see a few other bands i like, rather than paying all that money to go to Guilfest or wherever just to see them

Did they tour with the Bomber in 2002 or something?

First saw them 7/4/79 aged 16 - started with Overkill, drums the loudest thing I'd ever heard and then the rest kicked in 10 seconds and I was a complete convert!! Highlight seeing them in Leeds 28.3.81. Front row, made centre pages of Daily Mirror in photo, and yelled "Turn It Up" before every track so I figure I'm the guy who yells turn it up before capricorn on "No Sleep Till Hammersmith which was recorded on this short three date tour.

Lemmy said come tomorrow night we'll make it up to you and they did 23.11.80 ranks as one of the best for me. They were absolutely hot and they had the bomber!!

Yes, the British leg of the Hammered Tour featured the Bomber lightshow.

the german shows too, at least the ones in offenbach and stuttgart (filderstadt)... haha, still remember lemmys slightly irritated look when the bomber came down (pretty low ceiling in the venue)

I was on concert in 2002 but dont remember of bomber, maybe they played that. I remember in 1999 it was still snike bite love tour in june they opened with bomber.

Yeah, I saw them open with Bomber on that tour at Irving Plaza in NYC. One of the tops gigs I've seen them play out of 20 or show. Wish they'd open with Bomber again!

i guess as there's an enormous amount of bootlegs, almost everybody has been to a bootleged show...

for "officialy released shows", i've been to Munich '91 (released on the "everything louder..." dvd) and to the 25th and 30th anniversary-shows in London.

bootleged shows i know about: the "better wear armour"- and "hammered"-shows in Offenbach/GER plus one show in Zürich/CH in the late 90s...

oficial? no... bootlegs... at least 4 as far as I know...
