So the day of the show came and we were having a snowstorm. I went to get my ticket and there was an aftershow pass in the envelope. (I didn't expect that). I loved the show. I didn't really know the new material, which I assumed there would be lots of. It turned out almost everything they played were songs that I knew including Fire, Fire which they didn't play that often on that tour. I had brought earplugs because I was afraid that the volume level might be like the '82 show. It was nowhere near that level so I took the earplugs out after a while.
So after the concert ended I didn't really know where to go. One of the staff told me that they would let us know (all the people who had aftershow passes) About an hour after the show they called most of us. A few people waiting did not even know that the aftershow meeting with Lemmy was happening because none of the staff bothered to tell them. So we go to a backstage hall and after everyone except me and a couple of other guys are taken to a room to meet Lemmy. They didn't let me go in. They said there were too many people inside. I was told to wait until some people left. So we're waiting in the hall for 2 hours or so with a staff member standing at the door to another hallway that the room with Lemmy was in. So the staff member is told Lemmy had just left. I was in shock. The staff didn't tell anyone that there were other people waiting.
So I went out to walk to my car. Mikkey was sitting in the bus and I saw the bus driver who informed me that Lemmy doesn't come back out after going in the bus (totally understandable). I walked to my car and drove home in the snowstorm.
I felt bad that I couldn't even just say thanks to Lemmy for putting me on the guest list.
Anyway, my friend knows Lemmy pretty well and might be able to get me in, in the future....
